    Ritewing Zephyr

    Guys

anyone know how thick a ritewing zephyr is, I'm not asking for all the dimensions or anything, not that I'd mind if someone sent them to me :-)

    Cheers

Chris said at one time. I am almost positive at its thickest point he said it was 1 and 7/8" thick. The reason I remember is that I concluded he was cutting them from a 2" thick block. I was interested in learining how to cut my own cores at the time so I took mental notes.

I dont know the dimensions otherwise but they are not hard to guess, you can find plenty of pics of it to scale with a ruler if you want.

Thanks for that, I want to design my own (its half the fun of it but dont have a clue how thick to make it) 1 7/8" sounds really thick though?

It is really thick, but if you dont believe me look at the pics (and I could be mistaken). The thick airfoil is the pro and con of this plane to me (having never owned one though). It seems too thick to make the most out of efficiency, but in return you get more ruggedness and durability, as well as more space for embedding gear.

If I were cutting my own I would thin it out myself a little, just due to preference, not due to any supreme design intuition or knowledge..
