theindychannel.com posts anti-FPV story, calls "drones" a "growing threat"

    http://www.theindychannel.com/news/c...growing-threat

A week after I had such a nice experience with the PBS folks this crap gets posted. Keep your blood pressure meds nearby because this is nasty. Notice they make no effort at all to get the other side of the story. Also they call everything a drone, regular line of sight models, FPV, multirotors, whatever, all of it is dangerous, evil, "drones".

Sounds like an article on assault weapons LOL

Those pilots are crying because drone pilots are taking their business.
Most of those drone pilots ARE flying under 400' to do aerial photography, so their complaint is invalid, especially when a hobbyist is legal to fly for FUN, no difference......as long as you are not near an airport and under 400'.

Remember, the media is making money on advertising, and unless they sensationalize a story it won't get attention, therefore it won't get advertising.

They are doing this to stir up news, otherwise it's a non story and to 90% of the population it is a non story, nobody cares.

Any smart person would say "Well at least they are not charging $800 for an aerial photo like the helicopters do".

Interesting article, though definitely one sided. Sadly anything can and will be used badly, texting while driving, driving impaired, shooting innocents, porn photography. All those cars, guns, cellphones and cameras are all more than useful for good things but there will always be someone who will use them badly. A good example is the 1st amendment to our Constitution.

"Everybody could have their own drone. They could do all kind of things from taking pictures, who knows, seeding their yard, anything! I mean, it's just organized confusion," he said. "It has some broad-reaching implications if we don't get some kind of control of what's going on."

    HAHAHAHAHA

this sounds like the 1980s when beepers and cell phones came out. EVERYONE WILL HAVE ONE! YOU WILL BE TRACKED BY BIG BROTHER AND SPIED ON!!!

"An Indianapolis pilot of a small plane reported spotting a drone to airport managers in Greenwood. Those managers told Call 6 Investigators that the pilot spotted the drone a few hundred feet below him and flying in the opposite direction at a high rate of speed."

LOL you were going at the high rate of speed dumbass

Or 100 years ago when cars came out. ie. laws where someone had to walk in front of the car waving a red flag while it drove down the street, to warn pedestrians.

Well dang, you could have picked an example that did not come out 100% true.

Haven't you noticed in the news lately where cell phone towers are being constructed for the sole purpose of tracking? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triggerfish_(surveillance)
