    Recommended Radio?

I purchased a pre-built Discovery Pro from a private party and it came with no radio. Is there one that is recommended or works particularly well? I'll be flying FPV with GoPro.

I currently own a Futaba T8J. Is this appropriate?

T8J is perfectly fine for the disco pro. the sliders on the back are awesome for tilt and roll

Thanks, Trappy. Good to know! FYI, my T8J doesn't have sliders on the back.

ahh thats the 8FG. anyways, 8J will do. you should have knobs on the top

yeah use the knob on top for tilt, find a 2pos switch for the gopro/fpv cam switch and a 3pos switch for flight modes.

People have a lot of reasons for saying that you should ditch Spektrum gear... so many that I've relegated my DX6i to LOS parkflyer use only. I've tried a few other radios (used units ranging from 5 to 15 years old), including models from JR, Futaba, and Airtronics. For now, I've settled on a Futaba 8U ($50 to $70 used) with a FrSky 2.4 module ($25) for my FPV flying. I'll also be trying HawkEye OpenLRSng with this radio very soon.

Oh, and I picked up a very old JR Mark VIII for free, and I actually love it... but it's so old I'm afraid to use it except as a simulator controller. This thing is SOLID, made from stuff called METAL, and it indicates power level using something called a NEEDLE GAUGE... and when you power it up using the ROTARY SWITCH, it goes *THUNK* in a very satisfying fashion.

Well, i use a Hitec A9 and i am pretty fond of it, it is so easy to program that you dont even need the manual, no shit!!! The possibilitis are endless and you can combine things till you get sick of it

But im running out of channels and could use a coupple more for some extra things.

P/R/Y/T. basic gains, atti gains, flight modes, RTH, cam switch... All 9 used.

But anyway I higly recommend it for everyone who needs a good versatile radio.
