I received my SMA mag mounts from ebay already, they look goood, and came super duper heavy duty packed, 5 bags thick - two bubble bags, some bubble wrap, and three zip lock bags, lol.

Dime for scale, these are pretty small.

Is the magnet rubberized, etc., to prevent crazy scratching to your car?

You can put a layer of tape on the bottom of it if it isn't. Just ordered my pair thanks Volto!

It has a layer of plastic/electrical tape type stuff on the bottom, I don't think it would scratch a car, but the magnet is strong enough to put some thin foam tape or something on it if you wanted to.

The magnet on most magnet mount antennas forms a capacitive coupling to ground. Placing something between the magnet and the ground plane might cause the antenna to not perform as designed.

Does it really? How would that capacitive coupling affect antennas that weren't designed for an external ground plane?
