    TBS Discovery: Best Motor??

What's the best motor for the Discovery(besides the TBS motors):
    - price
    - build quality
    - effieciency
    - balance

If I was to choose a AXI motor, which model would I choose?

If you search around and read, you'll find that the TBS and T-motors are the same and the best thing out there for the disco. I have also looked for alternatives but nothing really matches the TBS set for all of your criteria listed.

One thing I can say is buy the best you can afford..

I had a set of $50 motors and I have a set of $200 motors and they are worlds apart in -price -build quality -efficiency and balance...

While I am sure there is a valid market for these cheapo motors, it is not with me. I like my stuff to last more than an hour of flight time..

    Re: TBS Discovery: Best Motor??

So what would be considered "good" motors? Im in same boat as op and looking for some good motors prob in the 1000kv range...what makes motor good? Im used to running scorpion, castl, eflite, hacker and omega motors but I have never built a quad before and these seem unreasonable at 60+ $ a peice.

I just went with the sunnysky 2216 800kv and 10x5 props. I went back and for with this for awhile trying to figure out lower kv bigger props or higher kv smaller props. I went with the lower kV for a longer run time. If I want more agility later I will switch.

PS you forgot to mention the best motor
    motrofly!

Axi 2212/26 920kv gold line if you have the cash.
Otherwise , if you want to settle for an ok brand then Tiger motors are fine.
One thing to remember is that if you want to use graupner E props 10 x5 on 3 S lipos then do not go lower than 900kv when choosing your motor.

Use the sunny sky v2216 800kv motors they work great and are very low on vibration.

I have three sets of iPower 2217Q on three different quads, one of them my favorite TBS Discovery. Cost is around $20 each and they have plenty of power on my slightly porky Disco plus the 4mm shaft can take a couple bounces on the dirt without bending, a big plus IMO.

This was the last time the weather was decent enough to get out for a little FPV time with it, 32 degrees F getting about 10 minutes flight time on 4S 5000 Turnigy packs using APC 9 x 6 props, goes up to around 12 minutes in warmer weather...

    MT2216 800kv vrs MT2216 900kv

hi, wich would you get between the MT2216 800kv and the 900kv version? i know that the 900kv version are the same TBS motors, but was thinking if the 800kv version of tiger motors will give me better flight time in 4s with 10 inch props, thanks!
