Dominator with unbalance left and right screen brightness

    Hi,

I have a Dominator purchased last december 2012.
I have been using it for around 10 times, and I just notice that the left and right screen has different brightness.

The difference is quite much that cause a strain in my eyes.
At first I thought that was caused by my astigmatism but I am already using the correction lens.

Only when I view the screen with one eyes closed I found out the cause of the strain.

Is there and adjustment method to fix the problem to bring the left brightness to equal the right one ? I really only want to send it in if there is no other method. Sending for warranty, would require me to export the product to the overseas store.

    Thanks in advance

The brightness is likely the same; your personal IPD may be slightly wider than the goggles can accommodate thus viewing the LCD outside the optimum viewing cone. Does shifting the goggles around cause the brightness to change?

What exactly is IPD? I get no change by shifting the goggles around.

    Hi thanks for the suggestion,

however, there is no change by shifting the google as well.
I am aware of the IPD and it fits me just fine.

The left screen is definitely darker than the right one.

Flying in the morning or afternoon, is not comfortable, as the left wcreen would be come almost dark.

I've noticed my left screen on my Dominators is darker too. It's still ok for me, but a little annoying at times.

Do you have access to anybody that has a pair that you can compare to? How hard would it be for you to return to the retailer to have it checked over?

There's no way to adjust it as the back light has direct voltage supply (not software controlled) and being an LED, the brightness is somewhat independent of the voltage supply. Changing the supply voltage will either burn it out or make too dark. If there is a variation in the brightness of the 2 displays and it doesn't change when you move the goggles around then likely one of the back lights needs replacing. Its covered by warranty but unfortunately requires working with your retailer or direct with the factory to resolve.

    Solution found.

Not the correct assembly of the left monitor.

Flip screen solved the problem. Brightness was the same.
