Well, my comparison wasn't entirely fair now i see as the Vtx only has 7 channels. I have no idea about how it actually holds up against an Immersion Receiver. Theoretically you would only need one...

Fatshark goggles can already be attached to standard receiver systems by the video-out plug? Or is that not what you meant?

I modified a standard 30gr servo some time ago. Removed all the endpoint notches both on the gear and pot, cut an extra tooth where it was needed and exchanged the pot for two resistors of the same...
What Vtx do you use? Did you try changing the channels on that as well?
