View Full Version : Tips for executing banking turns

21st March 2017, 05:54 AM
Hi all.
I'm really struggling with smooth banking turns.
I'm flying the IRC Vortex 285.
Can anyone share their setups with me like PIDs or presets and offer me some tips to help get there quicker?

I don't know what PIDs I am running. And I have only been flying FPV for about 4 hours but I seem to be getting the hang of things quickly.

What prop setup are you using? More blades on the props will bite more when you are cutting the corners. I have a Vortex 250, and am still mastering the corners myself, but I can say that each day I go out I seem to be getting better. If you do some research and find Rotor Riots Youtibe channel, they did an episode on cornering. The end result was just being more aggressive with it. Bank the quad more and use more throttle. And again, more blades will assist. The greater the blades the more drag you'll get, so you'll lose a little too end speed but they will really grab when you want to hook a corner. Props are cheap, so do a little experimenting. Go for a 5 blade prop setup and see how it compares to a 2 blade setup. I think you'll be surprised by the difference.
