Hello everyone. Now that I completed my vortex racing setup with fat shark goggles, I'm looking to sell it. LOL. It's fun for a little while, now I'm bored with it. I enjoy my DJI phantom 3 so much with the video and pic capability. However, I'm interested in stepping up a bit. I am building a DJI F550. I purchased a kit that has everything including the Zenmuse H3-3d Gimbal, and Naza-M V2 setup. I am also purchasing the IOSD Mark II as well. I will be using my Taranis Plus transmitter with the setup along with a 7" diversity display. My questions more pertain to the way you take photos/videos. Using my Gopro Hero 4 silver, once this is all connected, how do you actually take the photo's/videos? Do you assign a switch on the transmitter? How does this work? I read somewhere where you gotta start recording on the ground, and you have to stop it manually. This defeats the purpose if I can't take a photo from in the air, or record video from in the air.

So I guess I'm wondering how all this works.

Thanks. Pat

PS... Watch for the for sale post to pop up for my Vortex and lumineer setup.

GP cams have wifi for remote operation, but the range is only only ~10m before it becomes useless. For pictures set timelapse and go flying and for videos hit "rec" and go. There's an option to put a small servo to hit the button, but on a gimbal it is very messy.

Your GoPro will shoot 1080, 30fps video and a 12MP picture every 5 sec and that works pretty well for most things. With a 64GB memory chip you can fly a LONG time with no issues. The drone with gimbal makes for a steady platform. I did put a connector on my 3 black and 4 black that goes to a video switch that radio controls and I can fly with FPV camera or switch over and see what the a GoPro sees. Works fine for me.

What video switch did you use?

It has been over a year ago, I think one from Hobby King but it does not look like the one they show now but it is a 3 input one. I just use 3 way switch and cameras on 1 & 3 and 2 then leaves black screen which is good for looking at OSD for testing/setup.
