Are you going to stock the 5040 gemfan props? They are (IMHO) about the best all-round sport props where you want a reasonable compromise between performance and durability.

I've found the GF 5045 and GF 6045 to be no match for the HQ props but the GF 5040 props are really handy -- they are more flexible and handle my kind of "landings" better than the other GF options ;-)

I've used similar looking "no name" props from other suppliers and they were crap (although these may be different). Almost without exception they'd throw blades at random, even when fresh out of the bag and never crashed. I got tired of going and picking up my quad after the regular "WTF? Why did that just fall from the sky" moments and found the GF5040 props much more reliable.

I should pick some of these up from SZ I guess and see if they're made from better material -- who knows, they could be great!

SurveilZone's 5040 props SKU: MR1137 (http://www.surveilzone.com/Customized-5040-Multirotor-Propellers-Two-Pair-CW-CCW-g-1352) has good quality since it is made of good material. We customize it.

Very good props.
Well priced and appear to be durable. I've yet to test-fly them
Here a quick static thrust test and comparison with GF & HQ

This is the revised test. On the first test I the ESC BLHeli settings were not optimal for the Cobra 2204-1960Kv motor. Motor timing was set to"Low" from a previous test I had done. This new test was done with a KISS 18A ESC

Here's revised test
On my first video I forgot to change ESC BLHeli motor timing settings I was using "Low" timing for a previous test. This new test I used different ESC's so all thrust numbers are higher now and closer to many other tests done by others.

So what did you set the motor timing to in the second video? In fact, what also are you using for demag setting? I'm curious, as I am setting up a new build right now and I just flashed to BLHeli 13.2 and I'm wondering what to set for those guys for a 4s setup... 2206 2000kv T-Motors.

Thanks for the helpful info.

I used a KISS 18A ESC, can't change settings on that one. But you can check out my other video (https://youtu.be/v46YYLZTt98) where I use almost all the different BLHeli settings so you can see the differences.
For those T-Motor 2206-2000kv motors you can see my Argonaut-RCTimer hex ESC test (https://youtu.be/bAuRugN1niU) I used Timing=Medium, Demag=Low. Damped Light worked very well too. That's a good starting setup. As you increase timing, most brushless motors make more power at the cost of efficiency (more current is used per unit of thrust) Some motors may actually overheat at the high timing settings or may also have synching issues.
The ESC also is an important factor in performance and you may be able to run high timing with a certain ESC but not with another. So I would start with the settings I mentioned and if all's well you may want to go up a notch, check motor temps to make sure they're not overheating.

Got 12 of those 6040 props, "consumed" them all (3 remaining) in 2 days. Not really indestructible, but still strong. Compared to GF mix or simple nylon props - saves some time in field for prop changing. 6+6 packs on the way already and will order more.
But they need balance - all of them have heavy side with numbers (all by the same amount, all on the same side), def. issue with moulds.

Hello there, I have a QAV250 with Lumenier FXC2206 2350kv 3s motor (https://quadquestions.com/product/lumenier-fxc2206-2350kv-3s-motor/)s on nanotech 1300 3S 45C (90C burst) battery. Can I use 5040 props with this setup and if so I'm looking for less fly time, more/less thrust? currently I'm using 5030 HQ props but I'm on the market for more props, thanks for the feedback.

xjet

Use the 6040 or 6050 props cut down to 5 inches and you'll have a whole new quad -- the difference is astounding and you can expect to get around 30-40% more thrust from the same motors/battery with these props. The 5040 props on their own won't make too much difference because although they have an extra inch of pitch over the 5030HQ props, they are not very efficient.
