Just received 2 of these cameras and the PA1194 case. The PA1194 DOES NOT fit the camera well. The hole for the cable is off by about 1/4 inch. And there is a a capacitor (I believe) on the back that is too thick and this hits the back door.

You will need to cut down the 2 unused connectors on the top and cut away about 1/4 inch of plastic to get it to close. The back door will bow due to hitting the capacitor..

Regardless, this should work for what I want. I am making a FPV seaplane and I expect to go through cameras and this one is cheap. Covered all the holes with caulk and I should be good to test next weekend.

Surveilzone product arrived in about 7 days with their expedited shipping (extra $ or two). Incredible service and real cheap.

You can connect with SZ team to get the suitable case, I am sure they will respond you.

I can not blame this on Surveilzone. No where on their site do they claim to have a case that fits this camera.

The image below is to scale and is taken from the images from their site on the PA1194 case and the camera. As you can see, the holes DO NOT line up.

The image below is an overlay of the two images so you can see what needs to be hacked away

61238

The PA1194 Case does not fit. It can be hacked away to make it fit.

If anyone got this to fit, either the camera has changed or the case did.

Customer service has indicated the PA1194 does not fit without customization. They will do this if you ask for it on the order form. No where on their site does it state this. In their words

If you buy this camera and need a case be aware the case will not fit properly and you need to ask for a modified case.

You left the chat before we updated a suitable case for the camera CC1558 (http://www.surveilzone.com/800TVL-FPV-CMOS-Camera-5-20V-with-28mm-Lens-for-Penetration-g-1295), that would be PA1192 (http://www.surveilzone.com/ultra-light-plastic-case-for-700tvl-cmos-board-camera-pa1192).

Please aware the note in the AD, It can be suitable for 800tvl camera CC1558 (http://www.surveilzone.com/800TVL-FPV-CMOS-Camera-5-20V-with-28mm-Lens-for-Penetration-g-1295), but you need to cut the upper two connectors (useless for FPV) off so that you can fit it into this case.

I received the PA1194

I just received them yesterday. The opening for the wires IS NOT located in the right spot. I had to cut about 1/2 cm of plastic to get the output and power wire for the VTX to fit. Even you photos on your site show the opening too far to the right as compared to the connector on the bottom.

We were not getting anywhere on the chat and I had to go back to work. As I said, it does not fit. I had to cut the case to get the camera into it. Either the camera or the case has changed.

Corrected this post. I received the PA 1194. The PA1192 does appear to be correct

Here is an overlay to scale of the back door of the PA1194 from the surveilzone website and a photo of the back of the cc1558 camera

You can see in the lower left corner the plug hole in the PA1194 does not line up with the connector on the camera. The top hole and connector lines up, but this is the useless connector that is not used. The bottom hole is the important on.

This drawing is to scale so you can only see about 1/2 of the output and power connector.

Still a great deal and incredibly fast shipping. People just need to be aware about the case not fitting properly. For me this was an issue as it was going into a seaplane which will see water frequently. A better sealing case would help with the water proofing. Even then I was planning on having the camera die frequently, thus my interest in a cheap camera.

Here are photos of the PA1194 before cutting the back and after to show how far off the hole is. What can not be seen is the bowing of the back door due to the capacitor (or what ever the cylinder wrapped in plastic is) hitting the back preventing the back from closing completely.

Before mods. If you compare to the scale mockup off of website photos, the website is accurate.

I managed to break the other leg on big Y1 capacitor loose while installing the camera on my tricopter. Anyone have idea what kind of capacitor is it? What could I solder in as a replacement. Is it even a capacitor? :)

Turns out it is not a capacitor, it's an oscillator. Never seen a cylindrical one before. I guess this is the same: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Electronic-components-27-000MHz-NA-SMD-original/1354585522.html

More precisely -- it's a crystal (which becomes part of an oscillator).

You need to know the frequency of the crystal -- using a replacement with the wrong frequency will not work.

I get a bit annoyed with the Surveilzone shopping system -- I load up my cart and then get called away. When I go back (and log in again) my cart is empty and (being old) I can't remember what it was that I was going to buy :-). A persistent shopping cart would result in many more sales (at least from me) ;-)

I love this camera. I got it from a friend because he got a different one and I said why not and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's leaps and bounds better than my 700tvl banggood camera. It handles the light to dark transition flawlessly and flying at night has never been better. I'm so using this camera on every build I do. Would highly recommend especially with the $10 price tag

I have been playing around with a few of these $10 fpv cameras for a while now and when they work, they work very well imho.

The problem I have with them is that although they are rated 5-20v, they do not always play well with all vtx's with a 5v camera output.

The only 5v camera output vtx that I have found works well is a FX796T (both the 200 and 600mw versions);

http://www.banggood.com/FX796T-6-5_8G-600mW-40CH-Audio-Video-AV-Transmitter-With-Antenna-For-FPV-Multicopter-p-1009910.html

My Fatshark 250mw vtx works inside but as soon as I take it outside it turns light purple and gets very grainy. My el cheapo Eachine ET200 will not even power it on.

I have tried running this camera on 12v and it seems to work fine.

So, for me, I think it's best to plan to run it on 12v.

Anyone else having problems running this 5-20v camera off a 5v Fatshark vtx? Thanks.

PS. Best option is to spend $35 and buy a HS1177 to begin with imho. We spend enough on our FPV gear so the 35-10=$25 diff is pretty silly anyway.

I have the same issue with my two cameras, don't work well on 5V, runs them on 12 V and they are great cameras.
