That last vid is an example of why not to use spektrum for FPV.

It isn't Spektrum's fault he flew over a neighborhood full of wifi networks.

I think it's the fault of both, I flew too far and over wifi ! Fortunately I am planning to buy an EZuhf to work with my DX8 and this should work great !

It looked like you were sitting on the ground, this would reduce range as well. You will be very happy with your UHF system. It's a lot easier to enjoy the flight when you aren't constantly worrying about the radio link.

Also, you don't want to mount your UHF module directly to the back of the DX8.. the radio goes nuts!

I stood up when I lost control but I could not get it back. How should I do to make the UHF work with my dx8 ?

The trainer jack on the DX8 puts out high enough voltage that you do not need to modify the radio to tap the PPM signal. This page might help

You also had the antenna oriented horizontally, which is not ideal. You want it oriented vertically either up or down.

Pilotkeeg : haha good answer, but money doesn't grow on trees !
So if I understood everything well, I don't need to modify my DX8 tomake the EZuhf work on it ?

Timot, I use EzUHF with a DX8. It's right on the hairy edge... the DX8 supplies 1.1V pp on its trainer port, and the EzUHF says it can handle as low as 1.3V peak to peak... but it works for me. That said, I'm saving up for a Futaba.

I wonder if they have changed things around in different revisions?.. My brother has a DX8 and he gets 3.3vpp coming out of his trainer port. He was able to "plug-and-play" just by putting a headphone lead on his Thomas UHF.
