how high off the ground should i have my Vtx antena. i have an ibecrazy mad mushroom for my VTX, 1.2ghz.

Unless this is a ground pounder I'd presume the vtx would be high up in the air...? lol

Mines about 5 - 6 feet, circular polarized pepperbox/crosshair. Ive had no issues

Figured... but couldn't pass up the opportunity to tease a bit :p

As far as the vRx... the higher the better, but it can also depend on the antenna used. A patch antenna might work better on the ground, there's a few that like a ground plane... then others that like to be high. You can experiment with yours, set it on the ground at first, then raise it up chair high, then on a tripod, then higher... see how it goes. I fly really low to the ground so I prefer it to be up high, but I usually compromise because there's a limit to how big a tripod or pole I want to haul around with me.
