I was looking for some high quality motors recently. Super smooth, efficient and powerful. The tiger motors met my quality expectations, but the KV wasn't right. I was afraid that the MT2212 wouldn't have enough power, and the MT2216 couldn't perform with 8" props.

Instead of settling for an expensive motor I wasn't completely happy with, I had my own created. I got tiger motor to custom wind me some of the MT2216 at 1100kv. The stock wind was 900kv, and was fine for just cruising around but didn't have nearly enough punch for climbs I like.

These things simply scream. It's insane.

I've been extremely happy with the results. It's pure bliss flying my quad.

yeah and if you're asking yourself "why does he spin around like that?" it's because i love hearing the sound of the props slicing the air on the ground. You should hear this thing while I'm flipping and spinning lol, if you have heard a really good 3D heli pilot in person you know what I mean. The props just batter the air.

The 2216 motors gave me a full 2 minutes more flight time over the NTM 1200kv motors. All I did was change motors, everything else was the same.

NTM 1200kv: 8.5-9 minutes hover, 4.5 minutes "insane" flying
2216 1100kv: 11-11.5 minutes hover, 6-7 minutes "insane" flying

The climb rate is faster on the 2216 than the NTM. The NTMs reach their maximum power output at about 80-85% throttle for me. They don't overheat, they simply just don't have enough torque and power to spin the props any faster. The longer can of the 2216 fixed this problem and I get full power all the way to max throttle.

you have to order it separately lol. way back in January the first frames had a piece of the CCD housing miscut. Since then I've separated it from the frame as an accessory.

These motors are really nice. So smooth when turning by hand. I haven't flown with them yet, but you can tell they are top notch. I sold my 2216-11s to get the 2216-9s and these feel smoother than my other ones.

Chacth, stupid question. I've got a couple sets of your MT2216 1100KV and Sunny Sky 2216 1250KV. Like the way both fly and not knocking either one but I was wondering, would the 1100KV pull slightly less amps at WOT and have higher efficiency(in general). I'm looking for a good compromise in flight time and pop. Currently got the 1250s on my rig and was contemplating switching back to the 1100s. Seems like I was getting slightly more time in the air earlier this summer (when I was using the 1100s). Thanks! -T

I have some questions regarding your motor: Is it available at rmrc or just at your site?
Is a prop adapter included (if yes what diameter?) and why do you sell only a ccw adapter in your shop?
Do you have any further data about maximum current ratings (is a 20 A esc sufficient for 4s?)?

Thank you

Not sure if he's watching this thread lol. I never got a reply to my ?. ;-)

I've had a couple sets of this motor for my quads. They are fantastic motors. I dont think Tiger makes different versions of the 1100KV motor, that was only in the beginning of last year. They should all have upgraded bearings afaik.

For the Adapter, I don't think cw adapters are really necessary, I think a lot of the toy RTF quads have been using them though.

As far as amps, it will depend on AUW and prop size. I'm around 1.5KG and run 845 and HQ 950s. Chatch has written elsewhere this motor will pull around 18A at WOT with an 845. I use 30A ESC but wouldn't have an issue with less weight and smaller footprint of the 20A.

I've used the 2216 1250KV Sunny Sky. Good motor, fast as hell, but it will drain your lipo pretty quick. The 1100KV is a great compromise between the two sizes. Once you use 2216 sized motors on a ~400mm/1.5kg sized quad, running 4s, you won't want to run anything else. The pop and top end is unreal, compared to 2212 and 2208 sized motors.

Hope this helps.

I guess he is busy shipping quads :-D

Yes this helps. Are normal prop adapters included with each motor? If yes what prop hole diameter is required?

Im in transit atm, so I don't have my stuff nearby. Check the other 2216 sized specs on tigrs website, they all run the same adapters

That sounds right. Sorry, I was actually getting back home (in VA) after about 4 weeks away. :-) Man, that's been the longest I've gone without flying all year. Will be taking a quad with me next time I'm gone for that long a stretch!

I have all my rc gear in my hometown since my flat in vienna (where i study) isn't large enough. So I know exactly how it is to have such long breaks without any flying.

sorry, I stopped selling them after t-motor repeately sent batches with bad bearings. I should probably remove them from my site. I thought I did that already. The V2216 Sunnysky motors (1250kv) are very good replacements.
