I use a small cup and mix a few drops of water in the gorilla glue, stir it well and fill the holes about 1/4 inch or a tad less with the mixed glue.
Then do not disturb it at all, let sit till about 90 cured then cut off close to the contour with a snap razor, the next day sand it , then spackle and sand again.
This fills them super nice.

Awesome ck.. love the colours! Looks fast.

Those fins you put at the middle... do you think something similar on a ZII would help cut down on wag?

ritewing
1st January 2013, 04:42 PM
I have made alot of diff versions of center fins over the years, I will let you know how these work.
I will be making the wingtip fins about 1/3 the reg size, just large enough to be efective.
The outer fins seem to always keep the plane locked on, when too small it slides in turns
The combo of both verts with the outer winglets sized down and full wrapped wing fence vorts will be a good test.
Once I get these mounted I will do another over view video for you guys.

Chris, have you or anyone else built one of these, covered it with fiberglass, painted it and then put the laminate film on? I'm building the ZXL model and have been contemplating adding a layer of glass to it before I paintand laminate it......

Also what kind of linkage/anchors are you using for controls, and where can I get it? I'm getting close to prepping the elevons for covering and would like to have the linkage on hand and ready to be installed....

Sorry to be off topic guys, just trying to get a little info...

glassing it removes the crashabilitly of it. sure it would work by why bother? just spar it up to spec as designed. save a lot of cash and man hours.

some linkage ideas: http://team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:pushrodset

or visit your LHS and ask for the biggest set they have

well ZXR en route, this is my thoughts on motor and 8s, motor rated at 2000 watt and 100amp 11 x 10 prop could stir up some trouble at the air field

Picked up the meat n potatoes of the zxr today, eagletree osd since my rvosd doesnt support 8s. Scorpion hkIII 4025-650, and 100amp esc. 1,3 to feed some video of the soon to be speed demon.... let the wiring begin

Try about 10 1/2 to 10 3/4 and use your tuning skilz to fine tune if it needs

It's been since Xmas since I wired my second zephyr.... forgot how much "fun" it was lol. I think ive spent more time thinking about layout n shielded lines then anything on this build. But here we go.

COG'd and ready to maiden after I incorporate a strap for the batteries.... 6600 mah ZXr on 8s, 2420 watts at wot throttle pulling 89 amps on an 11 x 8, Scorpion HKIII-4025-650

Ill glue on the black coro cover and cross my fingers. When i first throttled it up in my hand it was sketchy, so much thrust past half way i couldnt hold it and almost flew into my chest lol wasnt ready for that.

Hopefully maiden in a week.
