Hey ,

I'm not satisfied with the range on the ezuhf rx on my Fpv car project using the factory ezuhf antennas. I would like the antenna to be positioned higher on the vehicle, like some real 4x4 have at the front for their UHF radio. Any ideas what i could diy? Is a 1/2 dipole my best option?

Height and weight is not a limitation as the car is 1/5 scale and pretty heavy.

I use this http://www.bevrc.com/customed-antenna-for-uhf-rx_p276.html
Dont know how it compares to other antennas thought. I needed it becouse i have the EZuhf under the (metal) hood of the car and now i can run the antenna so its sits on the highest point of the car.

Keeping an eye on this thread, i am sure there is some good options out there excpecially if you build it yourself.

Btw, cool looking car. Got any videos to share ?

A sleeve dipole might be an option in your case. You can have a flexible plastic tube as antenna pole with the dipole on top. With the sleeve dipole the coax can be run through the tube then. Search Google for "sleeve dipole" and you will get the idea.

I'm jealous, that's gonna be quite some fpv rig! What kind of range are you getting on ezuhf?
