Come out to Colorado... We will keep the light on...

Living in the first US state to legalize the recreational use of Marijuanna... Im just curious what folks in other states think? Anyone planning future vacations to our "green" state? I'm thinking our tourist industry is about to get a pretty big boost!

so how does it work then.... If it's still illegal federally speaking?
I can walk around the street with a three chamber bong holstered off my belt, exhaling into schoolyards and no one can say boo? cops can't do shit?
obviously driving under the influence is still driving under the influence.

    what about selling and buying?
any details on the new laws?

Hmm. Well, seems about time states make some money on what's been being sold for ever that's not causing problems.... besides from being illegal.

OMG I wish I lived in Colorado now and not California ROFL! Honestly your state is just the beginning, the end of prohibition is here and I cheer on the rest of it's fall! Going outside right now to celebrate the decision of Colorado voters!

Yeah that's great news for progress! I'm going to fire one up in honor of Co and WA. Hopefully Canadian provinces are soon to follow.

I am seriously considering moving to CO. (Now if only that dingbat could legalize it statewide, now that he got 4 more)

Only federal agents could stop you.

    I'm all for it...

Personally I do think it should just be legalized everywhere, and let those that want to smoke a joint do so, with the understanding that it is to be consumed responsibly in the same way Alcohol, etc are consumed.

The thing about Marijuana is, unlike a lot of drugs, its detectable in your system for a considerable amount of time after you use it. The company I work for could fire me on the spot for a positive drug test, regardless of whether I smoked a LEGAL joint a week ago in Colorado, or an ILLEGAL one in my own NC backyard... It makes no difference to them, and I doubt a law like this will change that in their eyes. Better tools need to be implemented for detecting levels of THC in your system at PRESENT, not minute traces that indicate you smoked a joint 3 weeks ago.

And just for the record, I have never smoked weed, never really plan too, and probably wouldn't even if it was legal in my state, but I still feel like its harmless enough that we are wasting our time, money, and other resources trying to regulate it to the extent that we do. Crack, heroin, etc... Fight those drugs with everything we've got, and throw the book at those people, just leave that one lone guy growing a pot plant in his house alone!

    My 2 cents...
