Haha, uuhhmmmit's kind of embarrassing.... I chose the wrong controller. i chose the kk blackboard 168 instead of kk plus 5.5d which is the one i have.....
But it all worked out very well!!! i did my maiden today and it fly's like a dream!!

Finally my tricopter flies relatively smoothly. Now I need to work on improving my ground station. So far I've been using a skew-planar wheel antenna connected directly to my fatsharks on 5.8 GHz and a cloverleaf antenna on the tricopter. While I love the simplicity of that setup I'm just not getting enough range or reliability. I'm going to first try a tripod ground station setup and if that's not enough I'll try using 1.3 or 2.4 GHz instead of 5.8.

Hey I remember this thread! My poor tricopter has been hanging on the wall tattered after one of the motors failed in flight. Gotta get that thing going again, too much fun.
