UHF SYSTEMS INTERFERING WITH EACH OTHER...

Derek_S and I have many flying days together - but today his Scherrer LRS was causing my DL to failsafe on the ground. We haven't changed anything in our planes and have flown the same 2 planes in the same configuration many times together without seeing this issue.

I re-binded my DL rx and it went fine - then we turned on his and the same thing happened.

We didn't rebind his setup bc we figured it would be a waste of effort but I did find this odd.

    Thoughts??

they are both supposed to be FHSS... I dunno why that would be??? Is he using one of the 7w boosters for his scherrer?

Naah - he is just using the normal box... that's why it was a bit odd for us.

I've heard of guys having issues standing very close to each other (2-3 feet). Than when they separated about 20-30 feet all problems were resolved. I think both of those guys were on DL. Just a thought I had.

I ended up putting a ferite core around the PPM lead into the DL. Seems to reduce the problem a bit.

Yeah we were pretty far apart. Pretty soon we'll see if it was just a bad day. I def didn't like that though - makes me wonder what would happen if we were both flying tandem (we do a lot) - and he failsafes and need to click the high-power switch in order to recover.... he might send me into a FS as well. We DEF gotta do more testing to make sure that doesn't happen.

I have the same problem. Two dragonLinks in close proximity to each other, we get random failsafe on both the quad & funjet, separate the two dl tx's(under 10m)and we regain control but the servo movement is jittery and not fluid. Separate the two tx's by 10+ meters and the movement is perfect again. I can keep separation between us no problems, but how much is enough.

    Cheers, Kev.

you might also get a new tx from mike if that doesnt fix it

it's a common problem ... not sure where it's coming from but none of the UHF vendors really solved it. EzUHF has a perfect hotfix though for up to 3 people. In any case, fly your UHFs alone, or with a reasonable distance between the transmitters, or you're in for a bad surprise.

I've seen the same problem with 2 of my friends...they both have a dl and always have the same problems. I do have the EzUHF and never have such problem with them
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoyed every minute of it
