Thread: Review of FPV-Japan DVR

  1. #481
Hi guys and sorry if this has been covered allready here. I read "most" of the thread but dont find my question.

Is possible to use the Vout from the JDVR and connect another LCD little monitor? I do this but nothing shows on the LCD.

Also when I try to set from the JDVR menu "video output" and select PAL then ask for TV connect, if I select YES and ENTER then the unit tilt and I must disconnect the power completely in order to use it again.

EDIT `^ This works OK when using the supplied remote control.

So what Im trying to do is in this order : VRx A/V out to JDVR A/V in then JDVR A/V out to external LCD screen A/V in.

It is possible to do so or im loosing my head?

I make a little draw showing my connections.

    Any advice is greatly appreciate.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Martin,

you shouldn't need to turn everything off to reset the video display/output selection.
i.e. you can also set the video output back to the internal LCD from the menu if you navigate the menu the same way - but on your external PAL/NTSC monitor.

I hope I understood your question correctly.

My honest advice would be to use a video splitter and not to feed through.

    thanks,

A quick update for you all.

Pre-orders placed mid March have all shipped - it was one busy weekend!
Some of those (2 or 3 units) are shipping from the USA direct to conus addresses this week.
As we have now cleared the bottleneck due to the customs issue we are slowly shortening the wait time on pre-orders.
Orders being placed at the moment are expected to ship this coming weekend.
I cannot apologize enough and also I cannot thank you all enough for your patience.

Batteries are now in stock in the USA as well - So I am chasing up orders for people who requested spares - again, thanks for your understanding and patience.
I have a battery charger sample on it's way to me - So hopefully sooner than later we can charge batteries on the desktop and not just in the DVR!

Replacement switch plastic - now shipping!
If your DVR has faulty plastic sliders on the switches (some of those purchased in Oct/Nov of 2011 appear to be affected) please email me with the following details.

    1. Name
    2. Email address at time of placing order if different from now
    3. Full shipping address - ZIP - Phone
    4. Serial number in back of DVR
    5. Whether you wish to replace the parts yourself or return your DVR to have them replaced

Please send the above information to support-no-spam@fpv-japan.com (remove the -no-spam!!)
Please use this title in the subject "DVR Switch Issue - Serial number of your DVR"

    thanks,

Hi Ren and thank you for your advice!

I think that if I can pass the signal through the JDVR maybe my LCD monitor doesnt go "blue screen" when there is no signal or interference.

The unit goes to black screen and remains like that when I try to set the Vout on the menu, but is OK while using the the JDVR remote control.

Im going to use the spare Vout from my VRx to feed the external LCD.

    Thanks again for your support.

    Hi Martin,

yes, when you tell the DVR to output to NTSC or PAL then the internal LCD will turn off.
If you use a video splitter or a spare video output on your RX then you can use the instant turn on & record button because the video out is not used.
That's where you plug that red button cable - with the DVR turned off - just press to turn on and record.

    Best regards,

Yes, the red button is a nice feature.
Ren, was this feature your idea?
