    Hi Milehunter,

you can charge via the USB socket I just found out recently.

    Vortex,

    sorry about the delay.
    Please read my post below.
I'm going to need to keep one or two units on hand in case any of the new ships require an RMA.
If there was anybody who by email I promised a DVR then once these latest orders have all arrived and all is ok I will ship out my last "reserve" units.

thanks for your understanding and patience,

    Ren

    Legal help needed

    Hi all,

please accept my sincerest apologies for slow response to emails.
I am in the middle of migrating away from Gmail/Google and have been having a few teething troubles getting web based data over to local data.
Battery orders will have shipped by now. Please be patient as they will arrive shortly.

Also please accept my apologies on the frozen order cue for the DVR (and for not updating the product page to that effect - I had saved a draft copy and not gone live with it).

As explained in a previous post the US Customs are currently coming down very hard on all and any products that cross their otherwise unprotected and open borders.
I currently have a large shipment of DVR about to be destroyed by them over a rogue logo on a very very generic and nondescript package that seems to offend them.
Not once have I advertised any specific benefits to be had by the use of the logo in question, nor have I ever promised any kind of feature or safety aspect that is specific to the logo in question.
In fact I have never shown a photo or illustration of said box in any form of product description or public listing in an effort to gain the confidence of a customer in order to defraud them of money.
But the logo is on the box, a box that has no product name or description of it's contents on it. In fact 3 of the logos on the box are legit and registered with their respective nanny state "authorizing bodies".
Just one logo that I assumed to be legit is the cause of this issue and it has given me no end of grief over the last month or so.
Pissed, enraged, ready to be added to the no fly list etc would not begin to describe my anger.

    Why?

US Customs do not return calls to people outside of the US.
US Customs do not acknowledge receipt of documents sent to them specific to the case in question.
Most importantly, US Customs (nor any other body or organization) have no lawful right to confiscate nor destroy my products as no harm has been caused either physically or financially to a third party, furthermore the product in question is PATENTED and definitely NOT counterfeit as they insist on claiming.
Anyone awake to what common law is would know that this is in itself theft and criminal damage which is punishable in a court of law.
In fact all other legislation and legalese are put in place to levy fines and generate income from those who understand and submit.
<-- (Yes this is a link and I strongly advise you to study this topic and not waste thoughts or emotions over the messenger)

Even a wrist slap/don't do it again fine would be unlawful (no crime committed, no compensation required), however tempting to accept to avoid loss.
A return to sender at the border would have been more than enough!

So if there are any lawyers out there who can go part pro Bono please do PM me.
I'd be more than happy to offer some goods as a thankyou if successful.
The time limit on this case might already be tight. Yes.. should have thought of this earlier.

    thanks

    Ren

Do you have an address, phone number or email address where a few of us could vouch for you? This community knows how few other products of this type are out there.

Appreciate the offer jimmaplesong but unfortunately to play the globalists game you need to outsmart them adhering to their own rules or call their bluff with a capable laywer.
Emotion, honesty and common sense to them is like grass is to cattle.
In one end and out the other.

It won't be the end of the product but a set back financially for sure.

    Hi guys,

    thanks for the support.
Unfortunately the US Customs just won't call to any non US number and Skype/Google numbers they will not call either (Google numbers are only available to US residents - or at least not to Japanese residents).

I've had some progress with the factory and how we are going to share the loss and get resupply going.
I'll post back as soon as things are moving. Apologies to all those who are waiting very patiently on this.

In the meantime I'm going to continue work on preparing the new website and other new products I have had in the pipeline for a good while.
I've had zero energy while this ordeal has been going on but one must push ahead!
When I swap contents out there might be a downtime of a few days. I'll forewarn as and when that happens.

    thanks,

    Ren

What about European customers. Or is that even a bigger problem.

One question - is it possible to power/charge DVR using the +5V at the edge of the small jack with audio and video outputs?

I think this is a 5 volt output which is to be used with a 5 volt camera. I think this lead (A/V + DC) is for use on the A/V input. There is a lead with A/V plugs but no DC plug. I think this is for A/V output to go to external monitor. When using the red RECord button, only plug it into the A/V out socket. I think if it is plugged into the A/V input and pressed on, it will short out the 5 volt supply exiting at the A/V input socket. I imagine if you want to use the A/V out to an ext. monitor and also want to have and external push to record button, then, use the A/V + DC lead on the AV output and fit a switch to the DC socket.

I hope I have not confused you. This is what I have checked so far.

A manual would be SOOOO good. Maybe amoung us we can compile one with each person's contribution??

One more thing, how do you activate FF or REW while in playback?

    Thanks.... Phelec
