Ren- Can you look at this discussion here:

    http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...postcount=1607

Sander raised an issue with respect to the lines on the screen. It looks like it zooms in a little relative to a miniDV recording. Is this something that can be fixed via firmware changes?
    Tractors are where it's at.

    Hi Tom,

we are on it as noted on the other forum.
    The firmware is user upgradable.

For those of you are considering ordering, please note that all stock has sold and the next batch is expected towards the end of this month (June 2011). Like the DOSD this sells out before we even take delivery so you may want to consider a pre-order.

    cheers,

    Ren

    Hi Marcin,

I think it should be made clear that the vertical resolution is only slightly affected and will not diversely affect the normal use of the DVR for FPV purposes.
So I have to be honest and say that I consider it as a cosmetic issue and not a major fault/malfunction and as such can be catered for by adjusting OSD X&Y offsets.

That being said, I am of course working with the developer to develop a superior FPV orientated build.
I myself would welcome this minor fix and am currently bringing them up to speed as to the needs of our community.

They have been very helpful so far so I expect to get some good news from them sooner than later.

    thanks,

    Ren

Good news for all FJ-DVR-SD4 owners.

The latest build of the Firmware has removed all/any scale and cropping.
Raw video pixel for pixel is now recorded direct to the SD card.

I need to report back to the developer and get a final build on this fix in the morning.
I will post a link to the firmware and instructions on how to upgrade it within 24~48 hours.

In the mean time please charge your batteries as firmware updates must always be done from an uninterrupted power source - which is the battery itself.

    best regards,

    Ren

    What took you so long

Now that is bloody good service, when mine turns up I will be able to finally post my flights again. I am a bit worried about that ash cloud that is floating around from the Chile volcano because a few planes are getting grounded way down here.
    Keep up the awesome service.

    Thanks

    Mark

    FJ-DVR-SD4 Firmware Update - no crop/no rescale

    Sorry for the delay chaps.
I wanted to be sure that everything is in order and that the downloaded/extracted file was in perfect working order right up to the reflash.

Enjoy your pixel for pixel image.

    FJ-DVR-SD4 Firmware Update - no crop/no rescale

    Thanks for your review BloomingtonFPV!

We've updated the firmware to give you all a better FPV device.

Enjoy your pixel for pixel image.
No cropping or scaling in both NTSC/PAL

Don't forget the beauty of a device with a built in LCD screen means that you can review footage in an instant which should be a no brainer when it comes to locating downed (expensive) aircraft via GPS last position known.

You can view the product online here.
