    It boils down to money.

    There is still http://nmpra.org/

One of the reasons I quit racing airplanes, bathtubs, and competiting long range is that I'm gone every weekend, and it's financially expensive to travel.
Sooner or later you'll be competiting more and more, expanding outward to nationals etc....

It's all about money and time.

I have heard one of the local clubs does racing again with electrics, everyone gets a parkzone P51 or T28....

    Just remembered this:

Install a smartphone app on your phone, put the phone on your plane, and then fly through GPS gates. Pretty sweet.

I don't understand, the whole "not enough people concentrated" if you look at competition glider pilots, they come from all over the place. They bring in their airplanes, pay to compete etc... certainly if fpv racing picked up and say there was a cash prize to be won, perhaps individual camera feeds were broadcasted on the ground for people to see, it would seem to become pretty legit.

Maybe I'll go over to the Hackaday forum and see what the boys can cook up. These guys seem to make anything out of nothing.

The part that I am unable to do is to put software onto hardware that is create the board.

I was just thinking about this today

I figure with a minimum budget of $10,000.00 I could rent some plot of land somewhere like Arizona; invite ya'll and have a grand price of $1 - 2000.00

    Four planes race at once.

    Course consists of four parts

    Speed run
    Climb run
    Down sprint run
    Climbing run (vertical)

It involves a big mountain of course, part of the race is following.the ridge line of the mountain. Racer is entirely responsible for designing properly for radio range

    Total distance covered, 5miles

Design has to be a rating of 250 w/lb or even 500W/lb

    Purely performance aircraft
