Thread: Graupner vs DJI props

    Graupner vs DJI props

Here is a few photos showing the difference between the Graupner 10x5 E-Prop and the DJI 10x4.5 prop. On the Graupner the blade surface is less but angle greater and could explain the higher rpm needed to maintain a hover, but it provides a much smoother flight, at least on a TBS Discovery.

The DJI props are imfamous for being soft and spongy, and is known to break mid-air because of tracking issues on >1kg crafts. Both have 8 mm bore which makes it easy to Graunpers on DJI motors.

Can't beat graupner - unless you have the money for XOAR carbon fibre precision pairs.

The xoar are nice! You're right, though, for the $$ Graupner can't be beat.

I wish I could find counter rotating graupners in the usa..

    I may go with these

but there are no counter rotating. We are stuck with shitty props here I guess.

Guys hit up electric wingman, he's UK based and has a truckload of stuff. Reasonable cost and fast shipping. Carries a wide range of graupner.

The Elektro props DO need to be bored out to fit the DJI motors as they come with a stepped centre hole to match various shaft sizes.

I have a hand held reamer that I attached to my hand drill, that way you can bore them out in about 5 seconds flat

Has anyone run the Graupner 10x5's on the AX2213's with 4 cells? I know they draw less current than APC 10x4.7's. I have a pile of 4S4000's that I can use with my Tri if running the 10x5's uses < 18amps per motor. My AX2213's are rewound so I know it will take up to 18 amps.
