Std OSD IV, Flying Wing mode, controls reversed?

    Hi Skylark FPV,

I'm trying to configure my Flying Wing with the Standard OSD IV. I sucessfully changed the mode to "Flying Wing", and I obviousely have no mixing in my transmitter as the OSD must do that. In fact, the OSD controls the alierons/elevator in wing mode. However, the axes are just wrong. If I throw the ailerons to the right, the wing acts as if it would climb. Pushing the stick to the front results in the ailerons acting like I would want to make a turn (roll).

Switching CH1 and CH2 and reversing CH2 makes correct output of the control surfaces, but then the calibration menue does not work as expected (calibrating the aileron, does nothing, as then it obviousely would expect me to move the elevator and vice versa).

Mounting the servos differently is absolutely no option, so how can I reverse this?

    TIA,

    Markus

Ok, I meanwhile can answer my own question :-).

The problem is with the documentation which states that one has to move the stick from the center to the right for the aileron calibration and move the "Pitch" (eek...) to the lowest position...

Ok, if your servos have to move the other way round than what the default is, simply move them to the other side (read left or pull) during calibration. Thereafter everything works as expected.

So, SkylarkFPV, here's my offer. If you like, I'm ready to rework your complete documentation so as it becomes readable/understaneable. I also own the AAT III with it's trace OSD thus could help there too. I could also translate it to german (as this is my native language). Let me know if you are interested.

What a Generous offer Markus and so badly needed for those of us that are trying to get this stuff to work!!

Someone to pull all the info into one understandable place.

I just spent the last 10 days trying to get software to communicate with Trace II, no luck.

Yesterday my Son (the lead system engineer for a high tech company) spent more than 3 hours on Vista & XP machines....uninstalled/reinstalled, port assignment, xp compatability mode, pc config tool 3.5, etc etc no luck either.

Today I'm going to comb thru all the posts and send him links to his office to try an figure it out.

    1. Into the OSD menu, OSD->Calibrate->RSSI
    2. Toggle Switch(OSD channel 6), the RSSI value will blinking.
    3. Remote control Power off, then power on. OSD will get MIN and MAX value.
    4. Toggle Switch(OSD channel 6), the RSSI value will stop blinking.
    5. Finish.

    Markus,
What type of wing are you trying to fly? I'm intrested in installing the Dianmu in my Z2 and it looks like the software is the same for both. Have you had any luck yet?

Yes, look at my second post in this thread. That's the answer. First, "pitch" is the elevator. If your controls act the wrong way, simply initialize the axes in the oposite direction. That said, move the stick from center to the right. Retry. If it's still wrong, redo, move to the right, and pull back (instead of pushing). Retest. If its still wrong, only change the elevator and so on. In my case, I simply had to move the aileron to the right during calibrate and pull the "pitch" (read elevator) during calibrate hence move the stick to the oposite direction than what the instructions say. As simple as that. Works like a charm now.
