Wing: Receiver Placement and Interference 35Mhz

    Hi there,

In my "Sport Wing" that I will use for a small camera in the future, I noticed today that I have Servo problems if the cables from my lipo to the controller are next to the receiver (close), it is a Multiplex RX 7 Synth DS IPD. On full throttle I basically cannot control the plane anymore.

Since I need a lot of weight in the front, I´ve put the receiver in between the lipo and controller (see picture) there is not too much space anyway. I noticed that if I move the power cables 2cm to the right on top of the wing, it's no problem at all.

How do you place your receivers in your wings? I'd be happy to see some setups..

generally speaking, you want to keep the receiver as far away from the ESC as possible, or put some kind of shielding in there in between the ESC and the RX. The ESC's put out alot of EMI, and can interfere with RX systems, especially older 35 & 72 mhz systems. On my plane I put aluminum foil tape on the foam in between the ESC and the RX. Worked great.

Well in this case it's not the Esc.. The Esc sits below the tape on the left / back its a small one with only 12a atm.

The problems are only the power cables you can see next to the receiver

crazy, thomas scherrer tested that as one of the best rx's. eh, exceptions for every rule.

you can always try separate rc power supply, or getting the rc out to a wing if you don't mind some long servo wires (which obviously also bring up their own issues) or just try a different esc/rx?
