Ready made always helps me out ! Thanks !!
i rather pay a little more, and i even have my stuff shipped across the usa just to get the service tim provides. ya i could order from washington, or arizona. but for some odd reason it comes quicker from rmrc with better service. i order ezosd and spironets 2 fridays ago. it shipped usps on sat, and i got it monday. and thats ohio-calif. and there was a box with free shipping for an item i was returning. my bank account was creditted before my return made it back. tims service is worth every penny.
Don't doubt ReadymadeRC's service. Tim and co. go the extra mile. They have helped me out multiple times where other vendors wouldn't have even considered it. I ALWAYS buy from there if at all possible.
Chris
I've ordered loads from TIM and I'm happy to support a non chinese vendor!
The customer service is brilliant and also costs money, RMRC also has competitive prices.
You can pick any vendor and chose a couple of product which are more expensive than anywhere else...
I support people/company's which bring this hobby further like RMRC, IBcrazy, TBS, IRC, fpvmanuals, OP, circular wireless etc.
Ripped of, this term would be appropriate, if you order something pay for it, but it doesn't do it's job... I reckon Tim would let you return the item, if you change your mind...
I can understand you are upset, but it's not RMRC's fault...
Do research if you want to save every little penny, apart from that go and fly!!![]()
Tim sent me a replacement vtx the other month, trusting me to send the broken one back. I'll pay a premium for that level of fantastic service!
Hi All,
Hmm, these types of threads are a little awkward to deal with. I'll start here:
I have two goals with my company:
1. Make money to build a business that will be here for years to come (It's a business, that's the point, right?)
2. Sell only the best products and things that I feel will advance the hobby FOR THE LONG RUN, my reputation, and lead to goal #1
There are a lot of companies out there that are willing to sell anything they can get their hands on, hoping to make a quick buck and not giving a crap if it's best for customers. (like those cheap RTF FPV planes that are about 3x the price that they are worth, and flew like crap when we tested them) There are also a lot of people that have, or are trying, to jump into the FPV business hoping to "get on the bandwagon", without really understanding how to run a business, how to take care of customers, or how the equipment even works.
Regarding the prices compared to mine: For most businesses that want to STAY in business, it's common for low cost items to have a larger percentage markup. Why? Because the time and fees involved for each individual transaction eat up any profits for low priced options.
I'm not sure why DIYD is charging so little for those cables. The transmitter cable looks similar to mine (copy?), but the camera cable definitely isn't the same as any of my cables. I'm not even sure why they are carrying the cables, as I see no compatible equipment on their web page (or jumpers to link the camera and transmitter cables together for that matter). Maybe they purchased them and they are hoping to dump them of at or below cost, maybe someone listed them at the wrong price, or maybe they just don't care about making money off of them. I've been dealing with them as a wholesale purchaser for a little while now, and it's not normally a good idea to rip on a supplier, but based on their "support", I'm not sure why people are buying equipment from them. Products are delivered without packing slips, just as piles of individual parts, and with no support other than "go to the forums" when help is needed. Offering little to no direct technical support is definitely more cost effective for them in the short term, but it costs us money to offer support and stand behind our products. On a related note, I also see they sell equipment that requires an amateur radio license to operate legally in the US, yet they make NO mention of that on their web page. Maybe they just aren't aware of some of the huger per-sale files that can occur if the FCC decides that they are marketing this equipment to the "general public", or maybe they are just taking their chances. I also saw that they are selling some pre-built multicopters with FPV equipment as an option, and when I saw one of the pictures, I just had to laugh. I recommend anyone who knows about FPV equipment go take a look and tell me if you see the glaring, obvious mistake they made. If they are selling anything with wireless equipment on it, they should at least know the fundamentals.
Regarding the price on wires, as I mentioned it is typical to have larger percentage markups on low cost items. Where the OP got stung a bit was with the combination of a few low cost items adding up to a fairly high priced combination. Honestly, I did make more money off of that sale than I needed to. It's difficult, and time consuming, to offer the "best" options for all situations. After looking at this thread, however, I think I can come up with a better solution. Some time today I can put together a cable "package" that will have the options to choose transmitter, camera, jumper, and even some OSD adapter cables as options. This custom package will cost significantly less than purchasing individual cables, but hopefully will allow me to achieve both of the goals I listed above.Win-win for everyone I hope. I won't be able to do this for all potential combinations, but I can at least cover some of the more common situations where multiple cables might be needed.
To the original poster: Contact me on our support system and we'll give you a refund for the difference between what you paid and the new combo price once I put it together.
Tim
Well YouMadeMeDoIt, customer service can't get any better then this^^
Well done Tim!!

GPS directly under metal plate? dipole pointed straight up? gopro not attached to anything? propellors directly in front of the camera?
I wonder if you can implement a "buy two get one free" policy for certain cable selections so customers can mix and match for their specific application.
Also keep in mind that DIY Drones is owned by the editor-in-chief of Wired magazine. Publicity and networking may be a greater drive behind this business than actual dollar sales.
Hahaha hmm... I've heard of him: http://forums.openpilot.org/topic/11...to-be-exposed/

Meh, i listened to half the talk of the DYI Drones funder at DEFCON this year and this was 100% marketing bs, 0% interesting. He was basically explaining how you can exploit free open source coder and make money on the hardware and how great of a genius he was for doing so (i'm not even paraphrasing).
Half the audience left midway... chocked or just disappointed. and so did I.
Not buying from them, like, ever.
