    kk board, yaw keeps going!

just got a kk ( 4.7 xcopter firmware ) board to mess around with and get my old 450 going, man this thing is kicking my ass! Finally got it all working ( damn manual had the wrong motor numbers so nothing worked right at first ) after i got that figured it flies but the yaw is horrible! i have reversed the gyro about 6 times with the usb programmer, still acts the same, tried it with the tx and still no go. I give it an input and it just keeps spinning, if you give it some left it will stop after about 180 degrees and go right, have no idea. It seems like the yaw gyro is not working at all but im not sure if it would even fly if that was the case. any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the yaw pot set to ~50%? Try turning it up maybe.

    Turn it DOWN to 50%?

I had a similiar problem and adjusted mine and now she flies straight.

the weird thing is it does not seem to matter if i reverse the gyro with the software, it reacts the same. i have had the gain from 0 to 100 and seems like its changing sensitivity but not ever holding. should i try an earlier firmware? thanks for the replys

just flew a battery in the front yard and still the same results, it doesnt seem like the yaw gyro will reverse. I go through the gyro reverse procedure ( roll pot to zero and move the stick you want to reverse ) but nothing seems affected. If i hold it in my hand the pitch and roll gyros fight me when itry and move it, the yaw doesnt seem like it speeds the motors at all.

I'm not sure what you're talking about using the usb programmer to change the yaw gyro direction??

But yeah to reverse the yaw gyro you need to set the roll pot to zero, power it up, move the yaw stick full left, full right (to their stops) and the led should flash, then unpower, reset pot to 50% and you should be good to go. If that doesn't work, what direction are you turning the pot to get zero? CCW or CW? Sometimes the pots themselves are reversed... usually its CCW to zero but some pre-flashed boards are CW to get to 0%.

If it still doesn't work then its likely that your yaw gyro is defective. If that's the case get the new KK2 with the lcd, its only $30 and is SO much better!

i have a usb loader and the software kk multicopter flash tool .62, you can read the settings from the kk ( just gyro direction ) and reverse from there as well. I bought the black board from fpv manuals and the usb loader. I have tried it both ways and it seems the gyro just is not working. it will spin both ways if i give it that input and just keep going but it dose not speed up like the gyro is reversed. I have set it with the roll pot to zero as well, 3 blinks when it starts up, move the yaw stick both ways then it blinks fast continuously, unplug and reset the pot and still nothing. its gotta be bad just thought i would try and trouble shoot it before i got a replacement.

Ok. yeah, I broke a yaw gyro once and it acted just like that. Shame, but if you bought it from Tim he'll probably replace it for you.
