Hi all. My name is Dane. I was struck down with a rare illness called chronic pancreatitis 3 years ago and have taken back up RC cars/planes/helis/multirotors to keep myself busy when I am sick at home. It keeps my mind busy and creative. I always loved RC cars as a kid and started with a Tamiya Frog, then a Blackfoot, and eventually raced a bit with an RC10 and RC10T.
As far as FPV I currently am running an eagletree/readymade tracker with eagleeyes and dual 1.3ghz receivers. One has a flat patch and the other has an ibcrazy cloverleaf. I use a haier 11" monitor, Headplay goggles and an Archos AV500 as a mobile DVR.
I am about to switch from eagletree as their OSDs are too large and too complicated for my needs. I will be selling all the gear eventually. I am replacing it all with a Skylark AAT, trace OSD, an android tablet and a tiny II osd I already have. The Tiny II works fantastic.
I build some for small profit to pass time, and others for personal use. I only keep my favorite. I really enjoy challenging builds and remember the days where in order to have an RC plane/car you had to build it out of balsa or a kit. I really loath how the industry has all gone to RTR with no kit options. I wish companies would at least offer kits to us that like to tinker...
