Again, you must've misunderstood, they are not a copy of Alex's, they're different is just about any aspect that is of importance to the antenna (geometry, material used, manufacturing process, etc.). The only thing they have in common is the shape, which is not a novelty as I already outlined above.
So the "clover leaf" in that handbook is the one you are using? Or is it the 3-lobe antenna that Alex designed?

Someone is gonna open one up eventually.

Wow think if they plugged in the ground plane into the computer simulation too. Those are both just using the anode.

Could you outline what part of my reply you don't understand exactly? I don't know how to word it much simpler than that really.

Seriously? You said you based the antenna off the "cloverleaf" in that 1950s book, but as bicycle pointed out, it's linear polarized. Then you said it differs in manufacturing process, material used, etc, but the shape is the same? Well if it's so different why did you call it a cloverleaf?

Alright, I see you are indeed confused, let me quote myself for your convenience:

Its design is shown here in his 1950 book: http://www.g8wrb.org/useful-stuff/pd...Kraus-1950.pdf (page 429), they're not Bluebeam copies. They are actually made with a stamping process and a forming die which 'stamps' each antenna out of a sheet of metal and subsequently forms it into an identical shape, as a result tolerances are very, very tightly controlled and performance is identical for each antenna, i.e. these are not made with steel wire and a soldering jig.
Could you highlight in that quote where exactly I state that we call these antennas 'cloverleafs', they're called 'SpiroNET', but I guess the topic title already reflects that, maybe you missed that?

both product pages linked earlier say cloverleaf

anyway i'm sure we would all like to see them taken apart, i wonder why 3-element transmitter was chosen if that's true, i thought the main advantage was less drag which is not applicable with the dome
