    DJI 450 Flamewheel...

I've been looking at the DJI 450 Flamewheel with Naza flight controller, kit comes complete with motors and ESC... Appears the motors are DJI own as only DJI Props are compatible..

Can anyone tell me if a kit like this is worth the money, £300 and is there anything I should be worried about, I.e. the motors.

Heard good rumours about the Naza, are they true?

Would I need anything else to get me on the right road with MR?

Lastly, I like the frame that TBS are producing and would consider on as an upgrade so as to ultimately FPV with the quad.

The F450 is a solid air frame. It is easy to build, and everything is pretty much self aligning. The DJI motors are superb, what you have read about the props is that it has a flat spot on the build in prop shaft which the DJI props fit onto. As long as you ream your props for the shaft it is not a problem. Just make sure you use props thick enough so that you can tighten the prop nut down onto them. The kit in general is a great kit since the kit is cheaper than buying all the parts separate.

I would suggest getting a GPS module for the Naza it really makes flying the f450 exciting for fpv with the added RTH and Position Hold features.

There are a number of aftermarket items for the f450 such as "batwings" and various landing gear, but it is also easy enough to make your own vary easy. I bought two of these kits since it was easy to have an f330 and f450, then if I wanted to try hex I could get a f550 frame and combine the two quads.

And you are already looking at the future, since the TBS Discovery is built to accept all of the F450 parts, it is an excellent upgrade path to go from the f450 to the TBS discovery as it is just transferring all of your equipment from one to the other.

This is better suited to the Rotorcraft section, but... RCTimer.com carries clone kits for $110US complete with standardized motors/props. You can add a Naza controller to it. The DJI frame is nothing special, it's the electronic brain from DJI (Naza) that's worth putting up money for.
