    mounting board cameras

What is everybody doing for mounting their uncased board cameras to the plane? All I have been doing so far is just using some 1/8" lite ply with 4x 2-56 threaded rods (only size rod to fit through the mounting holes) to hold the camera. Its kinda ugly, not very strong, and it takes more time than I want to spend making. Did I miss the bandwagon for an off the shelf product that accomplishes this? There has got to be an easier way...

I use 50 mm heat shrink. 40mm shrink would prob be better as 50mm is a little big.

Well duh why didn't think of that. That's what I get for trying to engage the brain at 2am. I'm assuming you mean heat shrink around the board and then hot glue it to whatever. Me likey

yep around the board. I then hot glue it to a piece of velcro. And hot glue a piece of velcro to where I want to attach it. It's then easy to move from plane to plane and I've nvr had velcro come lose other than in a crash. And I think it's good that it can come lose in a crash as I imagine if it couldn't it'd be more likely to get damaged.

I can't see the pic - but I use this $3 P@T. Even if you don't use it as a P@T you can adjust the tils, then hotglue the sides. Then peel off the glue and readjust as needed - then glue it back - etc.

I don't have the right shrinkwrap, so I'm using electrical tape around my cam, then hot-gluing that down. When i need to get the cam off, i'll cut the tape on one side and roll the camera out.

I went to my local hobby store and brought foam balls. cut them in half. Drilled a hole for the lens. The I cut out the center for the board. Nice fit. attached with a little tape to my pan and tilt.

Right now I am making a foam ball that remains round by cutting the ball in half and a little off the bottom for pan only. I then use a very light modeling clay to shape around it. drag is now gone. simple as!!

sure. here is a small camera. I have done the same with board cameras as well. I have used tape to hold it on. very easy.
