    Tiny III issue

    I have 3 Tiny OSD's. I've downloaded and installed the 3.5 firmware and Tiny 2.8 Bin and new driver software on my Win 7 PC. I've configured port 1 as com port at 115,200 baud.When I connect the OSD's, I get this error message;
    "Open com port 12 err" and .

    Any ideas????

    Thanks for your help,
    Neal

    It should be your com port error.
    Please check the Hardware Management and select correct com port.

    OK.
    I've reinstalled the software.
    I've set the Prolific device to COM8 and speed at 115,200.
    I've tried manual connect to Comm8 and buad rate to 115,200 and auto connect in the Skylark program I reconnected the hardware and now get "Check HW connect". Can't get it to work.

    I haven't gotten this to work on win7 64. It works on a couple of xp machines but none of my win7 machines all of which are 64bit and all of which have had many USB serial port drivers installed on them.

    I guess I should have stated that I'm using Win 7 64 also.

    I had the same problems in Win 7 64bit until I changed it to run in Windows XP mode. Right click on the Skylark shortcut and choose properties then the Compatibly tab.

    REALLY strange. I run windows 7 64bit and was able to use it without any problems.

    I discovered something interesting. When I tried to write new firmware like you want to do, the first time I connected and clicked on firmware update, it was busy updating for a while and then said it was done. I disconnected and tested the OSD.... no video. After connecting to PC later, it said ready for firmware install, so it deleted the old firmware, but never installed the new one.... is that normal? or just an insignificant error?

    Please tell us your OSD model and firmware name what you are upgrading for OSD( XXX.bin )?
    Can your OSD connect with PC now?

    Sorry that I was unclear in my post. After the firmware update it worked perfectly again. It is the Trace III OSD. Upgrading from (factory) firmware V1.7 to version V2.8. The PC connect works also now.
