ezosd gps upgrade help

I've wired it correctly according to the diagram in another thread, but it will not show acquired satellites on the ezosd. It just blinks. The red light on the osd is just lit red not blinking. The light on the gps is blinking saying it is locked onto satellites. I'm running the latest fw. So I'm stumped.

The only thing I should mention is the metal case that's over the little board in the back I pulled off my accident, not sure if that really effects anything.

When I plug the original gps unit back it it acts normal just takes forever to get lock on sats.

I think you killed it by ripping the metal casing off, might've lifted a few traces or knocked off a component?

Ya not real sure, it looks fine. And acts normal from what I can tell. I just don't understand why the ezosds led is solid when I plug it in. But guess ill order another one.

Are you sure you don't have RX and TX the wrong way?

On the other hand do you get GPS error on the OSD?

Maybe be but i did wire it just as someone else did and i assume theres works. And i dont get any errors.

I have the same problem with a new LS20031 (dragon labs sourced) wired as in pic,... it sits there looking for Sat's for over an hour in open ground finding/locking on to none ?. No GPS error showing on screen.

Those GPSs typically have custom firmware and hence don't 'talk' to the EzOSD after initialization. I've had one of those before and it was a bit of a hassle getting it to work.
