    Choosing a camera

ouSo! The cheap "CCD" camera that I bought was absolute crap, and CMOS! So I'm looking for a camera. Probably going to order it this afternoon, and I'm looking to only spend ~$40.

I found this one, and judging by the specs I acctualy like it. But what do you guys think? http://www.securitycamera2000.com/pr...-Lens-OSD.html

I suppose I could always go with the Sony one, but idk.

And I have a 2.8mm lens, so lenses are not a problem.

Your thoughts? Suggestions? Anyone selling some cheap goggles?

    Your second pick camera: http://www.securitycamera2000.com/pr...-Menu-DNR.html

That is the best there is. I personally fly that camera.

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

Both of those suggestions would work just fine and serve you really well.

I used THIS SC2000 540 TVL Sony for the longest time and it survived MANY face first strikes into objects. The metal case is only 31g (or so) and offers brilliant protection and the lack of a menu adds simplicity. I did move up to a 600tvl with a menu but kept the metal case.
My youtube channel here shows a bunch of videos of both day and night with the 540.

I guess I'm trying to say I like the Sony CCD cams a lot. *thumbs way up*

edit: I'm flying the same one as Alex mentioned above.

Yeah the Sony 600TVL is the only FPV camera as far as I'm concerned. A little fragile but can't beat the picture, especially for the price.

here is it cheaper, with another cable and 3 lens. I use the sony 600 but not the one below. just found this a few days ago. SC2 says it is the same cam on a different board.

The one thing I know how to do well with FPV - crash. All in a day of fun!

Awesome! Thanks, it looks like I'll be going with the sony and 3 lenses, the spare lens will probably be useful eventually, lol. Regarding a case, I can do one up that should hold it pretty safely. I'll be sure to tell you guys how it turns out! Thanks again.

I got the cam today! Good news is that it works! no bad news yet, I think I'm going to end up flying with a monitor before I get some goggles.

I was really surprised by the image quality, I tried it in a dark room, and I could see pretty much everything clearly. Even the IR filter install was painless. I still have to learn about some of the options on the included OSD due to a lack of included documentation, but other than that It's perfect. Doesn't seem too complicated anyway.

So as of now, my on plane electronics are 100% together, and working flawlessly.
