    Which LRS should I get?

I'm ready to get a long range UHF system to add to my Futaba 7C. I'm really leaning towards the EzUHF setup as it looks easy to set up on my Futaba. I'm putting this on my quad copter as it is my only FPV aircraft. I will be getting a plane later too. Are there any other systems I should be considering as well? Thanks!

Man, there are PLENTY of threads on this already. Just do a search.............

Don't over analyze it, just stick with proven systems.

There are many threads but I'll try to sum up the differentiating features between TSLRS, EZUHF, DragonLink

12 Channels - everybody EXCEPT ezuhf
Firmware updates via USB - everybody except dragon link V1 (new V2's have usb update)
Rock solid performance - everybody is proven with long range record like flights on each.
Expandability, dragon link and ezuhf offer FPV systems that play well together
High power booster (not legal in US) TSLRS.
    Pricing: DragonLink
UHF features: EZHUF has spectrum analyzer which is great for trouble shooting. In flight failsafe rocks.
Support: EZUHF and TSLRS. Sassen is somewhat legendary
Availability: Hit and miss depending on time of year. When I bought ez had issues and now DL seems to be in the hotseat...

If you are very price conscious you might also consider RangeLink. Aaron is getting a setup that we will do some side by side testing on. Other's here have been positive. 1Tx and 2rx's for $289. In EZUHF that would be about $440-470 depending on rx's.

I have an ezuhf system that has worked very well, I appreciate all of its features and that it just works. I had a small technical issue (ppm on ch8 didn't work) and sassen spun the software within a week. I really wish it had a 12ch option for full house gliders and planes needing gain and osd controls.

Figure out if any of these features (or lack of features) line up with your requirements and the choice is pretty easy.

I was at the same decision point, and had finally decided on Dragon Link...but I could not catch an order "window" when the cart said they were in stock over the last week. Appears to be a lot of demand still. The lrs is the last thing I need to get, so I ordered a RangeLink last night. :-) Couldn't wait any more. Now I'll just wait for the shipping, and I know it's on the way.

The RL is nice. Easy as hell to set up and lots of features. I got mine in last week and did a new personal best of 3.3 miles over the weekend. That's nothing though, Daemon ground tested the Rangelink to 30 miles!

Yes, that's good stuff. And I felt good about it after reading the thread where Sid resolved the video interference on 1280 for us in the US. It sounds well supported and also like it performs well. I've got 3 orders en route for the rest of my components for a ZII/RL/FY31AP/Hornet build. I'm excited to try this out. I'm wondering how the FY31AP will do; I've read about some issues, but there also people using this package successfully...so I'll set up a cautious testing program and follow my plan to work through functional testing once it's built.

I just purchased a Dragon Link V2... I was set on the EzUHF but couldn't justify the price of the reciever by itself (don't forget the antenna, not included), VitaminJ almost had me talked into the RangeLink (I still think I would have been happy if I went this option). I chose the DLV2 because it has all the capability of the EzUHF, costs less, and is avaliable through a US supplier.

Firmware updates via USB are a new feature it also has a port for head tracking, but this feature is not active on the current firmware. It comes with a TX and RX, TX mounting bracket, futaba plug, RX antenna, as well as medium and long range tx antennas.
Here is a link to it on Urban Drones:

It is currently on backorder... so if your goal is to get a LRS and get flying you might want to go with a system that is in stock. Could be awhile before it is back in stock.

I purchased a RL and a week later it was delivered. I haven't flown it yet but the install went well except I had a issue with my OSD that wasn't RL related. From what I've read all of the systems mentioned seem to be good since the quirks have been worked out. I was quite impressed that Daemon got 30 miles during a ground test so in the air it must be really great.
