    1.3 Saw Filter Sanity Check

Sorry about creating a new thread but I couldn't find anything from 2012 to post on.

I just need a sanity check that everything is ok

That was Super crazy hard to do, I messed up a soldering iron tip getting it out. I actually didn't think it was going to work, when I ohm tested it I was getting signal through all of the pins to each other. I can get numbers (even though I don't understand them, if you need them)

I did power it on and the video did come up, so thats the good news. Did I screw up the replacement of the saw filter though? I was quite rough with it. And I thought the 3 pins shouldn't have any ohms thingys running through them.

Sorry I am an electrical engineer weenie.

I would imagine something should be going through it in some fashion ROFL, I would say if it works it's probably OK, but I am no engineer either :P.

    Hey,

I was worried big time doing this mod as I only had a 25 watt solering iron. I ended up ripping the top off the saw filter with pliers and filling it with solder, heating that up which heated all three pins and once and it just falls out.

On the 2nd one i did, I used that desoldering thread/tape not sure what its called, its like copper braided stuff. Put it on the pins, give it some heat and it soaks up all the solder. 10 seconds work, flip it over and it falls out.

1st unit took me 20 mins, 2nd unit took me 20 seconds

But when you guys put your multimeter on ohms and ran it between the 3 pins did it register anything? I thought I saw a you tube that said it should read anything. I just don't want to find out that video drops at 3 inches the hard way.
That's not flying, that's just falling with style.
