Has anyone ever attempted a stereo video setup before? I don't mean "3D" as it were, but just two side-by-side mounted cameras, each one piped into a different video stream and to different eyepieces, thus allowing for proper depth perception when flying (or driving, or whatever).
Is this even POSSIBLE with current equipment, or would it require a completely new setup?
yeah it has been done by VRFlyer over at RCGroups. I've seen it first hand, he mounted two cameras out on the center of the wings of an EZ*, about 10x the distance of the eyes of a human. Really cool 3D effect if you were flying close to the ground. Much better than the other 3D effects, because you had 2 cameras, 2 video links, 2 separate screens on the goggles.
