Well guys, I finally managed to start building. Between work and familly time its been difficult to get into it, not to mention that getting the 3m90 and the gorilla glue was a real pain. I'm gonna take my time with the build and expect to go through the process somewhat slowly as there are some items I'm still missing, like the power train and antennas.
So far I've got:
Blunt Nose Zephyr 60" Kit
Servos Hitec HS-5645MG Digital Ultra Torque Metal Gear 2BB
Motor Great Planes Rimfire .15 35-36-1200 Outrunner Brushless
prop APC 10x6 Folding Propeller
Batteries 2x Turnigy nano-tech 3300mah 4S 25~50C Lipo Pack
RC rx EZUHF 8 Channel Receiver
Castle Creations Phoenix Ice 50 ESC
Castle Creations CC BEC 10A 6S Switching Regulator
DPCAV 900MHz Pro-Series A/V Transmitter, 500mW
DPCAV Power Supply Filter, L-C Type
DPCAV Adjustable Voltage Regulator, 1-35V SEPIC Type
DPCAV 900MHz Antenna, V-Dipole (currently building IBCrazy's skew-plannar/cloverleaf combo)
EagleTreeSystems E-logger v4
EagleTreeSystems OSD Pro Pkg with 100A eLogger/Integrated Connectors and GPS
RMRC-540 OSD Camera / 540-Line CCD (NTSC)
2x 900MHz-1.3Ghz Receiver from readymaderc.com
900 MHz 8 dBi Flat Patch Antenna - 4ft SMA Male Connector
900MHz Antenna, Compact Dipole
EagleTreeSystems EagleEyesTM FPV Station
Headplay goggles (seriously considering other goggles due to the faulty connector)
Futaba 12 FGH with EZUHF Transmitter
Secondary Monitor Evaluating options.
Ok, ok, ok! I know! I completley disregarded Trappy's advise on keeping it simple. What can I say. I like the toys! I was supposed to start with fpv a year ago, but I became a father and had to postpone my FPV abitions and so I've been hoarding stuff for a year (no one told me on time parenthood was time consuming ).
Right now I'm just not sure on what battery/propeller/motor combination to use so I would greatly appreciate your suggestions. The motors and propellers I have listed I already own so I would prefer to stick to them unless there is a real advantage on going for other equipment. Also not sure if I'm going overkill with that battery Capacity.
As for my antennas I think I'll want to change them and build some of IBCrazy's circular polarized antennas. It's gonna take some time though.
Here are my first picts (please do let me know if I'm doing something wrong on my build)
