    quads and 72mhz

I have only been flying FVP for a few weeks now, i have a dji 450 with the naza controller, so far its a blast. I have been flying my spektrum 9303/ar8000 and have had no problems(until i tried to see how low i could go and went behind some trees, thankfully it lands it self during failsafe). Anyway i bought a 72mhz 9303 ( mostly for lrs) and a 9 channel pcm receiver, decided to try 72mhz and can only get about 10 paces from it with the antenna down. You really do not have much of an option to route the antenna as its so long. I just had it mounted on the back away from the vtx and routed the antenna out one arm and then around the outside to the others to keep it as far from the vtx as possible. So is anyone flying their quad on 72mhz? I was ably to get 600m no problem with my spektrum setup with very few losses on the rx. I just tested the rx not on the quad as was able to get 60 paces no problem with the antenna down.

I use my 72Mhz Futaba PCM with a base loaded whip antenna. I can get 100 paces - motors on with antenna collapsed.
I had an e-bay step-up regulator that I had to get rid of.
Also, twisting the motor wires made a difference.
Quads are tricky because they are so small and currents going everywhere

Roberto, how far do you fly with that futaba 72mhz with the base loaded whip? I love my Futaba 7C and it has worked great for all my FPV needs, but the antenna issue has me concerned. I use the corona RX, which base loaded antenna would you recommend?

I´ve never flown far with the quad but the range checks are very good ( would expect 2+ Km in the air )
I had a deans whip from the previous century lying around the shop so installed it on my 72 PCM 8ch RX.
Found a pic of it online but I don´t know if they are still sold.
Important on a multi is to make everything RF quiet. shield, twist, separate, and all.
