Easy Drone Build Along- FPV/Camera Plane

The Easy Drone is a remote control airplane that I designed myself for fpv. It is a very easy build and flies really good. The plane is very stable and gets good lift. Although it is intended for fpv, it does not need to be flown fpv. If you are not into fpv planes, this would be a great plane to build and fly.

I like it, looks like Alex's plane :P except alot bigger. I wouldnt want to nose dive it though because the front is just made of foam/plasic, also if you landed it funny the front might chip into the ground. Might wanna make like a little wooden skid or similar. Also I like the 3 vertical stabilizers in the back XD

    Cheers,

^^That's the beauty of cheap foam! If you total it then just cut out a new one for a total cost of about 2 dollars!

Yup, and usually the electronics don't get damaged so its just a little foam and glue!

Nice plane! Also really cool to make building vids! How does the plane handle at low speed?
One hint, I would make the camerapod more aerodynamic, especially the back side, right now it creates turbulent airstreams which will get suck up by your prop, which will create bumpy flights.

    You took my words!

It's good that your plane already flies well with its frontshape, but it could be faster, smoother to fly (and to look) and also more efficient with a rounded nose. I dont think that the gopro needs so much protection on its sides because of the large wingspan and the way planes crash usually.

It looks like a hammer now XD

    Thank you for sharing

Great contribution to the Lab Bixler... as with others here I agree aerodynamically it is a little rough around the edges. Have you looked into making the wings using Ed's design from ExperimentalAirlines (Armin Wing)? Brian from the Hartsel meet (SecretSpy711) had this style airfoil on his cargo plane for a little bit, he then switched the wing out for the Armin Wing and the performance was greatly improved. Just a thought that won't add a lot of effort to the build but will make a more robust plane. Check out Ed's videos on youtube... you can preserve the wingspan and make it fold in half too!
