I have been thinking of a wiper solution for flying in rain.

There is this awesome new FPV plane coming on the market from Asia called the 'Universeye Penuin' It has a huge clear canopy to protect the camera. But if you get rain on it .. it would really really suck. I was thinking just put a servo with an arm and a piece of sponge on it

Today I was real paranoid that the board camera would short out in the rain! I ought to make a cover for it. also my ground station needs a a clamp on golf umbrella (or maybe not - the wind might blow it over!)
You say shark I say hey man Jaws was never my scene And I don't like Star Wars

Lol.. that's probably the worst name I've ever heard for a plane. hahaha
With a canopy that curved, it'd be tricky to make a wiper that conforms.

    OK Gents!

Elevons are attached! I still need to connect the push rod to it though, that will be tomorrow morning. I'm wiped. I'll have to do some final fine tuning tomorrow, but it looks like I will be done.... *cross fingers*

It will probably be 10 am before I get out there though. It'll give me some time to get all that done!

    Maiden

    MAIDEN!

    Here are two pics!

I didn't want to risk getting the gopro damaged so no "on-plane" footage yet.

The plane was hand launched and hit the ground a couple times. So after the day was out the bumpers were broken off. The glue didn't hold. What do you all use to glue this on? epoxy?

Also, someone was looking through the Fatsharks as I was flying, and the bottom two lines of OSD information was missing. Anyone know why? This is on an EZOSD and on the bench that info was there.

Location 5! The farmer just seeded corn though. So, if you want to fly there you have about a week or you'll be trampling corn...

It flew quite well. Had a bit of adjusting to do as it was ducking down and to the left. so I'll have to do some extra balancing. I didn't do any COG check beforehand though. Once the adjustments were made, it flew like a knife through butter, so smooth.

My dad was brave enough to overhand launch it for me. Don't really recommend it though.

BTW just did a bench test on the OSD info.... it's back. Don't know what's going on.
