Rssi patch cable from rx to current sensor and ezosd question.

I just recently received the Rssi cable to hook up the ezuhf rx to the ezosd and sensor and was concerned with the wiring arrangement before applying power to the setup. The cable that comes with the ezosd has the color arrangement to show them matching up, blk for gnd - red for 5v and so on. The new patch cable has the color arrangement completely changed around and had some concern as the signals as the cable is hooked up to the rx.

Anyone else out there already using this cable? Just wanted to check before getting power on it and causing more issues.

Fairly certain that Sander wouldn't release any of his products until after throrough testing, just wanted to double check.

We don't sell such a cable, nor should you be referring to wire colors, they're not important, proper pinout is what counts. Where'd you source this cable from?

Right off of RMRC under immersion rc. Just being an avionics tech for over 20 years, just had to check before applying power. The interconnect between the current sensor and the osd shouldn't have any issues, it's just how the interconnect is arranged from the cable that hooks up to the receiver. The big question is, don't know if you would be able to answer this or not, is since this bypasses the solder connections for the rssi on the current sensor and goes right into the connector from the osd, would this enable the rssi display to come up. Otherwise, i'll just hook it up and find out one way or another.

So far the whole setup has worked out great except when at around -200ft sea level near Salton City, the gps probably had a tough time with that one.

Hooked it up and tried it out, and walaa... the rssi display is - - - not there. Along with the voltage, amp draw and mah part of the display, just dropped off, the only thing left is the navigational info across the top and the timer with callsign that pops up in regular intervals. I'll post this problem on the rmrc thread to see if there is any advice since they supply this.

Is it possible it would be a firmware issue on the ezosd to incorporate this or would it already be loaded up. I can live without the rssi, just don't have any idea when the rx signal is being compromised.

    Purple USB cable...works for me.
Used a white one today on the EZStar, still works for me, shielded too! $1.99 and the local GoodWill.

As Sanders said, check the pin-out, it's all in the manual and as I said, check the little plug in the end of the RX, make sure it's in firm but don't break anything...

This is the exact same problem I had, except I had made my own cable.
Still have the same cable, it works now, but had to have the OSD and Current sensor replaced.
Anyone notice how many of the same type of problems are happening here? If you look at the posts, there are a lot saying the same thing.

Yep, this RSSI Mistery makes me after 10 weeks of trying out diffrend UBEC's, SBEC's,
new EZOSD's and UHF RX's just crazy!!!

Ordered a custom made RSSI cable from Tim RMRC which is exectly wired like mine before and sure the ISSUE still the same.

Get a custom made RSSI cable from Trappy, his one has the GND wire plus, so with this cabel it worked but with a groundloop.

Dear Sander may I could send my EZOSD and RX to you just to proof this components?

I mean all updates are done every single wiring are several times checked and still the same issues.

Sander, why do IMRC not offer a plug and play cable for RSSI Signal?

Thank you very much for your support

Here a Vid. about the ISSUE with the two diffrend RSSI cables:

You did not just plug the RSSI cable in with the system running did you? You need to make all connections with batteries disconnected, then power back up.

    Hi Sassen

No, always before something disconnecting or connecting I power it down.

And that would be great: could you please PM me your address, with the bank data.

So let me know what it will cost I can prepaid it, I would like to check following components:

    2 x EZUHF RX
2 x EZOSD with Current Sensor (may Current Sensor not needed?)

    Thank you

    Regards

    ZoZ
