    FPV Wild thumper 6X6

Hi guys just wanted to share my fpv 6x6 with you
I have built it to explore my garden but even that is a struggle for my current 5.8ghz set up.
This is very much a work in progress ,most of it put together this weekend
The pan and tilt and fpv gear was previously in a rc tank but it was to small for my needs.

I made this video before I put the diversity system together and I was using Ibcrazy's cloverleafs.
Wish we could use the 900mhz stuff in the uk

Still to come night vision led's and water cannon
    Maybe a robot gripper !

Nice j4! I'm glad to see somebody here other than me using Thumper for FPV. I mean people are using these things to film lions up close and personal in Africa for gawd's sake.

Hi Colin I was looking at your wild thumper earlier
I am looking to do a 360 turret like yours but I was going down the slip-ring route

Does anybody know how much better 2.4ghz penetrates over 5.8ghz ?
I really want to get to the bottom of the garden

    Hi j45on,

I just set up my FPV car today using an old Tamiya Mad Bull chasis on 5.8ghz. Using a cloverleaf/scew combo and an rc305 vrx I got around 200m on a straight run. I was wondering how well those little panel antennas do in comparison as they are nice and cheap. What diversity set up do you have ?

Hi CurryKitten I have some home made cloverleaf/scew antennas and the standard ones that come with the rx plus one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-8Ghz-11d...ht_1047wt_1413

My diversity setup is two RC305's and a Eagle Eyes FPV Ground Station http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...5FStation.html

To be honest I have not noticed much difference between them yet but I am driving into a wooded area
200m on a straight run sounds great

Very cool. Nice work Yeh, that looks annoying having the monitor cut out rather than go to static - get some goggles or an old tv that doesn't cut it out.
The lower the frequency the better for penetrating obstacles so I'm led to believe. Keep us updated!
A few more mods and you could pick up that pink watering can and water your garden

That is awesome! I want one! I could use it to weed my garden and pick veggies
