    best all around

Just looking for some info from the group here.

What in your opinion is the best all around fpv plane platform for beginner fpv/intermediate pilot? I've been thinking it over for the last couple months and am undecided on what airframe I want to go with... I'm looking for something with slowfly capabilities and decent speed if I punch it as well.

If anyone wants to chime in here, it will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Matt

I have been enjoying my 1680mm Skywalker. I've flown it from 10 miles per hour to 60 mph and 75mph in a dive. It's the second plane I have ever owned and it still flys. I have smashed it straight into the ground a couple times but was able to repair it every time.

Skywalker is probably the most forgiving, if you have a lot of RC experience but no FPV then I'd recommend the EZStar, which is what i fly most times.

But once you fly a zephyr....watch out!

Thanks for the input guys, I would love to have a Z2 but with my in expierence with not only never flying a tail less craft it would probably be best to go with something a little more forgiving

What would be a good setup to start out with for fpv? Should I save up and go with immersion to start with or does anyone have another suggestion?

I think I jumped the gun a little bit by ordering a uhf system and a 1.3ghz video system from bevrc and after receiving their system I read some disappointing reviews about their stuff....

UHF is not a bad investment if you can afford it.
Honestly the Skywalker, EZStar - best bet.

This was done with an EZStar and a Zephyr and I bet you can tell which parts of the vid are done with which aircraft

I built my first FPV plane out of home depot foam and duct tape. It flew only OK but it was a lot of fun because I didn't give a crap about whether it crashed. From there I moved on to homemade delta wings, also made from home depot foam. This is the scratchbuild approach, if you have never built a plane before then I wouldn't recommend it because its just a lot of know how and time. I would recommend a Bixler, hawk sky or Ez star, they are all basically the same plane with different stickers.
I fly UHF with 1.28g and I love it. Basically zero interference. I do have a 600mhz low pass filter on my UHF TX, that helped with some early problems I had.
A question for you all, I have been looking at a Deep Reaper and it seems like a good deal at $100 with laminate. Is there some thing I am missing? I would expect to see more of them out there.

its a flat bottom airfoil made with epp foam. Its pretty forgiving but generates huge lift when going into a dive. Great for heavy hauling or general cruising, but not so much for mountain surfing. To each their own...
