It flew better today after i made a couple adjustments but the battery came flying out so I didn't get to see if it was working. Lost the battery into a swamp.

    Here are some pictures.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

Got my wing back together but it ended up being about 1350g AUW. A lil heavy. Flew it up at 12,400ft over the weekend and it definitely wasn't happy. Ended up crashing after a nasty spin. I've had some scary spins before but nothing like this. I put a bit of a twist in it while laminating which probably helped it spin.

Already ordered another Popwing! I also got some 3/8" x 2.5" aileron stock so I can rid myself of these damn foam elevons. Now that I have a blunt I will enlarge the ailerons as well. Lots of lessons learned with the first one so this one should be even better.

The way in went into the spin, looked like you lost control of a elevon. Sorry too see that. We put so much time in to the build and to have that happen sucks! Did you lose any gear?

On a better note, I ordered my blunt section from Brooks and got my OSD from Skylark Friday. Got the Popwing almost completed and tested the mah meter. Pulled the battery when it reached 1000mah. Charged the battery and it showed I put in 1050. Very impressed! Can't wait for my first FPV! Taking it slowly. Finishing my ground station then I will maiden. Would like to take this chance to thank Vitamin J and H0tr0d for all the help. You guys are great!

Naw I just stalled it, wasn't paying attention talking to my friend. I've spun it before but never that bad, usually I just let go of the sticks and it stabilizes and I can pull out. This time it just kept spinning faster and faster until I couldn't overpower it. When I laminated it the other night I put a twist into the wing which wasn't a problem until it started getting a lot of airspeed.

All the gear looks ok except my cam separated from the plane and I had to leave it up there cuz a thunderstorm was rolling in.

Got mine started today. Thanks to Vitamin J and ColoradoFlightMedic for all their help. Tomorrow I will start routing servo wires and FPV equipment.

I think the motor mount shifted somehow and has a tiny bit of left thrust. I may have to cut it off and redo it.

^^Nice dude! Your motor looks straight enough to me, from the picture at least. I like the spar placement too, that's what I'm gonna do with my next one.

I got my balsa aileron stock in and it is sweet! I had to special order it because my LHS only carries 1.75" aileron stock and the Popwing uses 2.5" elevons.

Check it out, this is the best price/shipping I've found. They don't list the length but they're 48" long.

Got my second popwing ordered from NitroPlanes. They are on sale until the end of the month ($30). Enovis, What is that spar material and where did you get it?

About to order another one as well. The spar is 5mm flat carbon. I followed the factory spar then arched it right under the battery line. one on top and one on bottom. I think I may add a 3rd parallel in the back.

i am going to try the oem elerons but picked up some balsa just in case.

I am also rocking the titanium pushrods. Super light and tough.
