    My second quad frame design

So I retired my first custom made quad frame. It served me well for over a year.

I am improving the design and construction since my first quad. Have seen many different designs now so I am picking a bit from each... and will improve crash resilience.
Arms will be tubular fiberglass. I am making a mold for these so I can make as many as I need.
    Centerplates 2mm fiberglass.

    Input is highly appreciated.

Looking good so far. Any details, of what you'll be using?

I´m pulling all the gear from the previous one.
    MWC + Turnigy 2830 1050 Kv + HK SS 18A escs. 3s from 2200 to 3300. ( 7-11 min aprox )
A new and special 2.4 LM is underway ( surprise ). Gonna build an SPW + crosshair for that.
Flying with Fut PCM for now but it should get an EZ lite RX sometime between today and x-mas LOL.

Oh god... I need 30 hour days... LOL.

have you considered going with 4s? What props will you use?
and how are you planing to make the mold for the arms?

I have but not sure how the HK SS esc is gonna handle the volts.

    I have used APC´s 10 x 3.8 and MK 8 x 4.5. APC´s give me a bit more flight time and the MK´s make it really stable.

First I will make a wooden part, then the mold will be made out of one piece concrete and the parts will be molded with a bladder from the inside (just like a tennis racket).

Oh man, I need a TBS core for this so badly... must resist must resist.

I´ve heard wonders about these props.... including that they break easily. With the MK props I can hit stuff ( like I always do ) and continue flying, they are amazingly forgiving and also a lot cheaper.

I have laminated lots of stuff before, check out my first design construction: http://fpvlab.com/forums/showthread....-on-the-making

That's a sweet looking frame you're cooking up! Ya know, I've seen your videos before but hadn't seen what you were flying... That was a cool frame! So, filling it with foam, was that just to help hold it together or did it actually reduce vibrations? I use 3/4" carbon tubes and if filling them with foam further reduced vibrations I'd do it in a heartbeat! I have other dampening and isolating methods in ploy, but always on the lookout for better methods.

On the Graupner props... I wish someone would start a thread on these and post up thrust stand tests and other info on their performance... Oh well, I guess I'll have to order some and do that myself!

Don´t think the foam will do any good for your tubular arms. In my case, because of the construction, it helped some. After 1 year flying these things, I gathered prop balancing is the night and day difference for any multirotor, since the gyros will pick up minor vibrations.
Smaller props also make it much more stable.

Only thing I can say at the moment, the design has changed, and changed a lot ( mainly for an easier construction ). Forget any quad you have seen to this moment LOL, this is completely different.
