    hi tim,

great frame, can't wait to get my hands on one.
About the heat sink, very interesting. This gave me an idea. The alumni copter arms are milled, so would it not be possible to mill a heat sink into the existing arm ?
The surface of the arm is anyways big and you always have airflow, so the heat sink doesn't have to be big.
    What do you think ?

The arms are in a slightly different place then the ESCs. You'd have to mount the ESCs on top of the arms somehow.

The ESCs are mounted in the QAV500 frame so that there is a lot of airflow above and below them. So there should be no issue with cooling them during flight, even with the standard heat-sink.

Anyone have any idea how the supply of these frames will be? I mean if I signup for a preorder will I be waiting till 2015 because 4 millions people are on the list...Even worse the way I fly I will need lots and lots of spare parts will they be available?

We are currently still working on the first batch of kits that are still slated to ship in the month of June. The site at http://qav500.com has an email sign up list that allows you to sign up to be informed of when the pre-order goes live. This notification will first go to the people on this email list. If everyone that is currently subscribed to this list was to buy a kit, we would sell out of the entire first batch of kits we are producing. But, it's unlikely that everyone that signed up will buy a kit, I think. Your best bet if you would like an early kit it is to: a) sign up for the list, and b) quickly place your order once you receive the status update with the pre-order going live. The sequence in which we are taking the orders will be the sequence in which we will fulfill the kits. We are also making spare parts available for every component of this frame, so if you do crash and break a part, you should be able to order the needed parts. Depending on how quickly we sell the first batch of kits we will know what quantity to order for the next batch of kits.

Already signed up for email. I'm just hoping you don't do a preorder starting on a tuesday at 11:59 pm because I have a feeling they will be sold out by midnight
