    You'd have to take it apart or at least expose one of the elements by removing one of the caps so you can use a multi meter and figure it out. Touch the multi to the pin or the ground and to the element and see which is connected. In really though, it doesn't really matter...

    Why does it matter which is the grounded side? It works the same inverted as it does upright.

    It will be mounted like this, so a part will be masked. It does not matter?

    It does not see the foam... As far as the signal is concerned, the foam is not even there.
