    Hi,
yep. Will do. just: tap behind the current sensor so you will get the right indication of mah's/watts consumed. Otherwise you essentially omit the mah's drawn for the whole RC gear and will get the reading of what your motor is consuming only which may be quite off a bit. removing the red and black wire from the ESC will do, too.

Just don't "torroid" any ground (black) wire, otherwise the ground reference gets lost. When testing or powering up for the first time, always remove the prop. Check in your radio that the there is no travel limitation when calibrating your esc for the first time, otherwise, re-calibrate.

    You should be good.

Awesome! Thanks again Dion, and all contributors!

I've seen enough prop-injury threads to have sufficient prop-fear.
I've since gotten into the habit of keeping all props off my aircraft until I power up on the field.

Is there any harm in throttling up a motor that doesn't have a prop mounted? There will be no resistance on the motor, is it safe for the motor to run at max throttle without a prop mounted?

    Hi,
don't over-do it, I got a not so-good feeling as well, but I didn't run into any issues. It's probably more severe if you have your esc set to hard stop for folding props.

Here's my final in case anyone else comes across this thread and can get use out of it.

Thanks again to everyone who offered their insight... It'll be a lot easier flying this thing knowing its wired up properly. Now to heat up my iron!

Split the +5V and GND coming from the UBEC out in a Y, one leg of the Y goes to the servos directly (without going to the Rx first) the other leg goes to the Rx. This removes the return currents from the servos from the wiring leading up to the Rx. No need for a ferrite ring on the input of the ESC.

Sorry, not sure if i fully understand your description.

Do you mean that i should basically ground each servo straight back to the ubec?
So that the current goes from the ubec, into the Rx, then onwards to each servo, then from each servo the grounds go back to the ubec to instead of going back to the rx.. is that right?

Feel free to scribble on the wiring diagram if it's easier.

    Thanks!

Uhm, no, you need to wire the servos in a star configuration. I.e. the UBEC is the center, the +5V and GND go out to each servo individually from the UBEC, the same applies to the Rx. The only wires between the servos and the Rx are the signal wires.
